The Marsh Afrikaner, still one of my all time favorites not only in the Genus but in the geophyte world as a whole. The large creamy white fragrant flowers are borne on thin wiry stalks to 3’ tall. These are seed grown from my own stock and can have variable mahogany striping in the throats. It’s very hardy having been in the collection at illahe here at the nursery for decades and survived temperatures down to 14 degrees F. If you are only going to grow one Gladiolus, this should be the one!
