Arenaria hookeri

$12.00
sold out

(Hooker's Sandwort) is a low-growing perennial native to the alpine regions of North America, particularly in the western U.S. It thrives in well-drained, rocky soils and full sun. It is known for its ability to tolerate cold temperatures and harsh conditions. Ideal for rock gardens or alpine landscapes, A. hookeri is drought-tolerant once established and prefers a dry, nutrient-poor environment. Its small, white flowers appear in spring and early summer, adding a delicate touch to any garden, but exceptional in a trough, crevice garden or rock garden.

Another plant I got from Kathy Allen, she like me had a lot of sun on her rock garden, and I have always appreciated the dry land Arenaria ability to thrive in super tough conditions. I have been collecting a lot of them lately, and this one is a super nice form with it’s low mounding cushion habit and stemless flowers.

This hardy plant is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 3-7.
